Mike started casting and sculpting in cement and sandstone in 2001, when he moved to Vancouver Island. As his skilled developed, he moved on to sculpting marble. This first attempt with stone was successful, causing him to focus his talents in this area.

"Mother and Child" completed

Mike's office is the outdoors as every sculpture starts with the search for the perfect stone. Mike knows when he's found the perfect stone when he can visualize the end result. After the stone is transported back to his studio, the sculpting begins, bringing out his vision.
